Self-service account deletion is not available yet. This information page does not delete an account, and no request is submitted by visiting it. A verified request process and retention schedule must be put in place before public launch.
Before requesting deletion
- Open Backup & privacy and export your library. Allow cloud-only files to finish downloading.
- Open the exported files and confirm your recordings, photographs, and videos are usable.
- Review journals you shared and contributions you made to someone else’s journal.
- Contact the app organizer using the email attached to your account. Ask for account deletion; never include your password.

What needs to be confirmed
A deletion request needs identity verification, confirmation of which account and owned content will be removed, and a clear explanation of shared contributions and retained backups. The organizer should confirm completion; do not assume an account is removed just because a request was sent.
Copies downloaded or saved by other people cannot be recalled through account deletion. The five-day recovery window for individual deleted audio is separate from account-wide deletion.
Removing the icon is not deleting your account
Signing out, clearing Safari data, or removing Echo from your Home Screen only affects that device. Those actions do not remove records already uploaded to the cloud.
If you only want someone to stop seeing a journal, manage their access in Share instead.
