Your account
Use accurate account information, protect your password, and sign out on devices you do not control. You are responsible for deciding who can access your journals. This preview is designed for adults keeping their own and their family’s stories; eligibility and regional terms need to be confirmed before public registration is promoted.
Your stories remain yours
You retain ownership of the content you upload. To operate the service, Echo needs permission to store, display, back up, and process that content as you request, including creating transcripts and showing it to people you invite.
Only upload content you are entitled to share. Obtain appropriate permission before recording others or sharing private photographs, and respect applicable laws and the privacy of children.
Sharing and contributions
Viewers can see and listen to the content you share. Contributors can add permitted content and manage their own additions. They do not gain ownership of someone else’s recordings. Downloads may remain with a recipient after access is removed.
Do not use the service to harass others, distribute unlawful material, violate intellectual property rights, bypass access controls, or interfere with another person’s account.
Keep a copy of what matters
Cloud backup and local recovery help protect your memories, but no service can guarantee uninterrupted availability or permanent preservation. Keep an independent backup of irreplaceable recordings and photographs, and check that exports open correctly.
Transcription is an aid, not an authoritative record. Review generated text before relying on it. Features may change as this preview develops.
Leaving Echo
You can stop using the app at any time. See Account deletion for the current preview limitations and how to prepare a deletion request. Removing the app icon is not account deletion.
Before these terms go live
The operator’s legal identity, contact address, eligibility rules, applicable jurisdiction, retention schedule, and any paid-service terms still need to be confirmed and reviewed. This draft does not override rights you have under applicable law.
